About Us

Chalet Genepy lies in the quaint picturesque alpine village of La Plagne Montalbert at 1,350m; the chalet is within walking distance of the town?s local bars, restaurants and other amenities. The main resort ski lift lies only some 30 metres away, linking the resort to La Plagne and Les Arc ski resorts, making this a unique 'ski in ski out' chalet.

The chalet is owned and run by Claire & Giles, from Harrogate in North Yorkshire, this fully catered ski chalet offers guests free transfers, great food and a warm and friendly atmosphere in spacious living accommodation for up to 13 guests.

Your hosts Claire & Giles have a shared passion for alpine life. Giles formally an ex-England FIS Racer and extreme skier has lived in the Alps most of his life. Claire has worked and travelled throughout the world gaining all round experience in hospitality and catering. Together their goal is to ensure your holiday is both memorable and enjoyable.

 

 

 

 

 

Accommodation

'Genepy' is modern yet quaint with a warm homely atmosphere.

The chalet accommodates up to 13 people of family, double and twin rooms with a mixture of en suite, bathroom and toilet facilities. For the added convenience of our guest's we have a lounge bar including the latest sky digital movies and sports.To the rear of the building is a decked patio area from which to soak up the sun, with uncompromising panoramic views of the mountain scenery.

On a weekly basis your hosts cater for your stay including: seven breakfasts, seven afternoon teas, six three course dinners, that include local Savoie wines for you to enjoy.

Resort

Montalbert is a charming village at the heart of one of the biggest ski areas in the Alps "Paradiski" offers 425kms of slopes and some of the best Tree runs down to the village of Montalbert. With a friendly atmosphere, delightful woods and sunny exposition lend themselves well to nature lovers who will appreciate the environment, during winter or summer. From the ski paradise to the high landscapes of the walkers. Montalbert Season 2014/15 has been granted a new Gondola to transport you quicker up to the higher slopes!
At night the resort is the venue for a whole host of seasonal festivities including torchlight descents weekly organised by the ski school. There is a great choice of bars and restaurants that offer live music plus a nightclub, for those who wish to party until the early hours. At Christmas Chalet Genepy will guarantee you and all your family a truly magical experience with extra special Christmas and New Year festivities happening in the chalet and throughout the village.
In addition to the fantastic ski adventures, the resort offers several alternatives. For those looking there are relaxing snow walks, there are several routes around the village which link up with woodland and nature walks and cross country ski routes which average around 10 kilometres. The choice is yours. Choose from a pair of stout walking boots, cross country skis or snowshoes depending upon your chosen route and conditions ESF also do a guided snow shoe tour one day a week.

So, man has always wanted to fly. You can fulfil this dream & discover La Plagne by paragliding through the air. Accompanied by a qualified professional paragliding & delta wing instructors, with their years of experience in La Plagne, they can assure maximum safety with unforgettable views. Other activities available in La Plagne Montalbert area are Husky rides, the Olympic bobsleigh, and Skidoos rides in the evening.

CRECHE: Montalbert has childcare facilities. "Les Bambins" is a creche located right at the foot of the slopes and accepts children from 18 months to 6 years old. "le Club des Piou Piou" gives children from the age of 3 their first skiing experience, and for 5 to 6 year olds, "Les Oursons" sees them head for the slopes!. Summer

During the summer months the resort & local areas have a huge amount to offer, from a range of water sports to relaxing in the beautiful scenery.

Summer Activities in the Village of Montalbert Trail bikes, Junior motor bikes, Mini golf, Archery, Trampolining, Table tennis Enjoy all of the above activities in the heart of Montalbert , open every day to keep the children fully entertained. Walking: Montalbert offers an extensive range of walks and discover the most exquisite meadows of wild flowers and wonderful mountain scenery - from a round trip up to the nearby village of Montgesin, to a 6 hour hike up to Mont Jovet our highest peak in the Montalbert region. Macot Plan d?eau: A 10 minute drive down to the valley to a natural lake full of activities. A beautiful man-made lake with beaches & restaurants. Take a 16km cycle path which runs parallel to the I?sere river all the way to Bourg St Maurice. Other activities include Go-Ape a suspended assault course in the trees.

Other local activities to enjoy Mountain Biking: Discover why it really is called mountain biking. Hitch a ride up the chairlift some 30 meters away from the Chalet and discover La Plagne in the summer, with marked Blue, Red and Black Trails, we cater for all needs from beginners to experts. You can also discover nearby Les Arc and Tignes which offer a huge range of mountain biking. Horse Riding: Take in some of the most breath taking views in the Alps. Peisey Vallandry lies at the back of the Bellcote Glacier, we can cater for children beginners lessons, courses and rides for adults and children. Golf: Discover Golf in the Alps ? Tignes the highest altitude golf course in Europe, overlooking Tignes le Lac. There is also a 18 hole golf course in Les Arc. If you are looking for something that?s not quite as hilly then you can try the numerous golf courses in Chambery or around the beautiful lake of Annecy.

Our friends at Franceraft cater for superb activities that include rafting, hydro speed, canoe-raft, airboat, canyoning, via ferrata & para gliding. Rafting: There is a variety of trips for all levels and abilities ranging from family groups to more individual extreme hair raising descents. Hydro speed: Get right amongst it, down in the river, mix it up with the rapids, surf the waves and take the drops! Kitted out in a 7 mm reinforced wetsuit & jacket, safety helmet, a pair of fins and a hydro speed board. Under the watchful eye of the guides you embark on an experience of a lifetime, taking all the river has to throw at you?
Canoe-raft: If your tried of rafting, here?s your chance to challenge the rapids and surf the waves as a team of two. Get a full briefing covering river skills, boat control and safety procedures required for an unforgettable adventure down the river, accompanied by fully qualified guides. Airboat: Ever wanted to kayak down the rapids solo? Well here?s your chance. Experience the thrill seasoned canoeists get each time they negotiate the white-water of the Isere. You are prepared for your experience by fully qualified guides, with a briefing and run-through of the required skills. Then you?re off, to test yourself against the elements and have an experience of a lifetime.
Canyoning: Come and play in our natural aqua-land. Abseil down waterfalls, jump into deep pools and toboggan down chutes under the instruction of a fully qualified canyoning guides. Via Ferrata: Discover the world of the mountains previously reserved for more experienced climbers. The climbs are all permanently staked out to reduce their technical difficulties, leaving you to experience the thrill and enjoy the spectacular view. All this under the careful instruction of fully qualified mountain guides. Para gliding: Discover what it feels like to be ?free as a bird? as you soar through the sky with highly experienced paragliding instructors.

Booking Form

Transport

We operate a transfer system in which we are able to pick you up and return you to your airport or train station. We recommend that you book your flights to coincide with our transfer and departure times, arriving between 12 noon to 10 pm and departing the following week between 7am to 1 pm.

We carefully plan our transfers to avoid unnecessary long waiting times. Customers that find their flights do not coincide with CGski transfer; we can arrange a private transfer at an additional cost, with Ski4Fun Transfers. Please contact CGski for further information. We are happy to provide child and booster seats at no extra cost.

There are a number of airports to fly from and many of them budget airlines.The majority of these flights are from Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle, Teeside, Gatwick, Heathrow and other local airports and expect to pay £50 to £200 return.

A regular Eurostar service operates every Saturday morning, which sets off from London St Pancreas to Bourg St Maurice or Aime La Plagne. It takes approximately 7hours 30mins but expect to pay £95 to £200 return. The aptly named 'Snow Train' also offers a regular service, a cheaper alternative with one change in Paris.

This is a popular option if you want to take in beautiful scenery of France. The distance from Calais to Montalbert is circa 580 miles

CGski Transfers are included in the stated prices. Our transfer day is Sunday which reduces the transfer time. The added advantage is that you can ski on Saturday when the slopes are quieter. Other transfer days please contact us to arrange an alternative Private transfer
