Chalet Genepy sleeps 15 people in Montalbert, La Plagne

The chalet is literally a stones throw away from the brand new Gondola which was installed in 2015/16 season taking you up to 2000 meters in a mater of minutes!, making this great value for such a superb location!

Montalbert caters for all levels and all types from families to adult groups.

Montalbert village is very authentic and not a built up purpose resort catering for the masses. While retaining a real alpine feel the village has lots to offer, numerous bars and restaurants align the streets. The skiing is mainly tree-lined so perfect for white-out days, There are red, blue and green runs back down to the resort so all levels will feel happy getting home at the end of the day and if those legs are really tired, you can now take the Gondola back down!!

In the village itself, you have sports shops, boulangeries, tabac, tourist office, local supermarket, spa, Bars/Restaurants and even a nightclub (British run) for those who have the energy.

At the top of the Gondola, is an extensive beginner area, in addition to the beginner facilities in the village that are at the bottom of the pistes and adjacent to a number of restaurants and bars.
From Le Fornelet piste at the top of Montalbert, there is a long meandering blue that will take you all the way back down to Montalbert passing in and out of the woods, with animal sculptures, roaring dragons and a grumbling Neanderthal Man to be seen along the way!  The faster route home is a long, wide, red run that is well served with snow cannons all the way down to the village making this a snow sure resort to the very end of the season, ensuring that it will always be in good condition.

Now with another new chairlift inatslled for 2016/17 season there is no need to go to La Roche - and access to Aime La Plagne is even quicker. There is skiing at up to 3250m on the Bellecote glacier as well as the villages of Montchavin and Champagny to visit. With great pistes, lots of off-piste, and plenty of mountain restaurants, La Plagne is truly a ski area that offers something for everyone. If you want to cover really big mileages, another 45 minutes or so will be enough to reach the Vanoise Express that links La Plagne and Les Arcs, opening up another 250km or so of skiing. Making this Paradiski one of the largest skiing areas in the Alps with 425 kms of piste's.

Descending the mountain back down to Montalbert at the end of the day, it is hard not to take a little rest at Le Forperet, a traditional shepherd's hut situated in a meadow above the village. You can be sure of a warm welcome, a vin chaud and a roaring fire, or a cold beer in a deck chair soaking up the afternoon sunshine - depending on the weather of course! Once back home, the village has a good quota of nice bars, most of which offer a happy hour to get the apres-ski mood going. The only problem is getting out of them...........
